Crestron TPMC-4SM Touchpanel Now Shipping

Low Profile, Single-wire PoE Touchpanel Media Center is Elegant, Versatile and Easy to Install

ROCKLEIGH, NJ - Now shipping, the Crestron TPMC-4SM is an ultra-thin, affordable PoE (Power over Ethernet) touchpanel that features single-wire connectivity and an assortment of mounting options. Using standard Ethernet for power, control and communication, the 4SM installs on any surface quickly and easily, no electrical outlets or control wire needed. Perfect for flush wall mount control for meeting rooms, classrooms and corporate boardrooms, the 4SM also serves as an elegant bedside touchpanel for whole house control and hotel guest rooms, with its 16x9 widescreen display, 16-bit color graphics, and support for streaming audio and video, 2-way IP intercom, and WAV file feedback.

"The functionality in this compact, lower cost touchpanel is truly remarkable," said Vin Bruno, Crestron Director of Marketing. "The 4SM has a high-tech appearance and multiple installation options that make it perfect for virtually any application you can think of."

The TPMC-4SM is an ideal solution for retrofits and renovations, since it doesn't require cutting holes in the walls. Mounting the 4SM, either flush or tilt, on glass surfaces or on concrete/brick walls is simple, safe and reliable. Standard wall and tabletop mounting options offer additional choices to meet any design requirement. Additionally simplifying installation, the 4SM fits neatly on a single-gang electrical box or low voltage ring.

The TPMC-4SM can communicate directly with Crestron RoomView® software via LAN for powerful enterprise-wide room scheduling without a control system. Meetings can be scheduled, rooms reserved, and room availability and meeting calendars viewed for any room on the network, right from the display. When mounted outside meeting rooms, the LEDs on both sides of the front panel indicate room status and can be seen from a distance, with backlit green meaning "available" and red indicating "occupied".

"No shows" can be detected using directly connect occupancy sensors, so even if a meeting is not cancelled or rescheduled, RoomView will automatically update the network calendar to reflect the room status accurately. The built-in proximity sensor wakes up the panel as the user approaches for hands-free activation.

The TPMC-4SM can also deliver fully programmable functionality to access and leverage advanced Crestron control systems, and is available with button and no-button bezels, and in black or white.
