New Pneumatic Process Controller for Gas and Liquid Applications Combines Closed-Loop Pressure Control and Decision Logic

CHICAGO, FEB. 26, 2007 - Parker Hannifin announces the release of the Microfluidic Process Controller (MPC(TM)), an electronic pressure control module that manages gas and liquid application requirements with or without the use of a host controller.

The MPC provides up to 3 channels of pressure control (proportional and/or
digital) that are continuously monitored with programmable logic, allowing entire pressure control applications to be handled with a single module. It simplifies the implementation of a closed-loop pressure or flow system by integrating valves, sensors, and microprocessor into a single programmable module. The MPC is available in a variety of pressure ranges up to 100 psig.
It accepts three channels of external feedback, as well as digital I/O and several formats of output monitor signal.

"The MPC offers the highest level of system control for gas and liquid pressure control applications, ? says Richard Parker, Senior Engineer, Parker Hannifin. "This product is new and unique to the fluidic control market as it combines the features of digital pressure or flow controllers with the decision-making capability of a PLC. Its stand-alone ability to take in key process parameters from either internal or external transducers or close-loop control multiple pressure channels allows it to function independent of a host controller. This permits the MPC to completely manage the fluidic side of an application, enabling scientists to focus on their core detection competencies.

The MPC is part of a complete suite of electronic pressure control devices available now from Parker Life Sciences.
