Pneumatic mechanical high-torque chucks are recommended primarily for unwinding, where perfect centering is needed. It can also be used for winding and rewinding, and is superior for higher weight, speed, and torque requirements. Pneumatic/mechanical high-torque chucks provide the highest torque and weight-bearing capacity of any chuck style.
Standard sizes available for Convertech's pneumatic/mechanical high-torque chuck are from 3" to 12" diameters. The body of the chuck and the expandors are available in steel only. The chuck is available in flange or cantilevered type mountings.
When running different core diameters, Convertech also offers interchangeable adapters which can be fitted onto one base chuck.
