At a glance

CATIA V5.13

Revolutionizes product definition practices with CATIA PLM (CATIA in the context of overall Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)), thanks to the new ENOVIA - VPM Navigator product.

Leverages relational design best practices and enables engineers to take advantage of ENOVIA collaborative capabilities.

Delivers dedicated applications that enable manufacturers to achieve business transformation and to facilitate large-scale deployment: CATIA - Cast & Forged Parts Optimizer 2 (CFO), CATIA - Automotive Body in White Templates 2 (ABT), and a new multi-pocket manufacturing capability.

Offers full coverage of electrical 3D harness design and documentation for machinery customers.

Deploys knowledge-based product lifecycle (PLM) practices by expanding corporate standards management within ENOVIA V5 VPM with product templates and design tables.

Reinforces the CATIA - Functional Molded Parts 1 (FM1) product with highly productive features.

Overview

Product, process, resources (PPR): The new ENOVIA V5 VPM Navigator revamps product definition practices in CATIA Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and makes PLM user-friendly. Design engineers can now directly access, within the familiar CATIA V5 environment, product information from the ENOVIA Engineering Hub. This breakthrough product provides immersive navigation through the digital product. It delivers impact analysis on all related data.

Collaborative workspaces: CATIA V5.13 fosters collaboration across the extended enterprise (OEM development teams, partners, suppliers, customers). The VPM Navigator enables design teams to take advantage of ENOVIA's collaborative capabilities and leverages relational design best practices.

V5.13 provides more flexibility in such areas as manufacturing preparation of composites parts and it reinforces associative design-in-context in the heterogeneous environment with new MultiCAx capabilities for IGES and STEP formats. The new SMARTEAM CATIA - Xtended Team PDM configuration strengthens CATIA-SMARTEAM collaboration. It provides an easy-to-use thin client solution for CATIA V5 users in a SMARTEAM environment.

Process centric: CATIA V5.13 delivers dedicated applications that enable manufacturers to achieve business transformation and facilitate large-scale deployment:

The new CATIA - Cast & Forged Parts Optimizer 2 (CFO) product provides major quality and productivity gains with new adaptive draft and fillet capabilities.

The new CATIA - Automotive Body in White Templates 2 (ABT) product simplifies body-in-white part design with more "intelligent" dedicated features.

New multi-pocket capability boosts productivity of aerospace structural parts machining.

Small- and medium-sized companies benefit from the unique value of a wider entry-level PLM solutions. V5.13 offers full coverage of electrical 3D harness design and documentation for machinery customers.

Knowledge: CATIA V5.13 is a key release for knowledge-based PLM practices deployment. The ability to manage product templates and design tables within ENOVIA V5 VPM reinforces the use of corporate standards. The CATIA - Functional Molded Parts 2 (FM1) product is reinforced with high-productivity features and enhancements to hybrid modeling that enable the design of more complex plastic parts.
