Belden CDT Electronics Introduces Plenum-Rated Analog Cables for Line Level Applications

RICHMOND, IN - Belden CDT Electronics Division, a world leader in the development of specialty cable products for a wide range of industries, announces the introduction of plenum-rated Brilliance Analog Audio cables. These new cables are plenum versions of Belden's popular 9451 and 9451D analog audio cables designed for line level audio connections, audio distribution equipment, and studio wiring with room-to-room plenum. The new cables include Brilliance Product Nos. 9451P, a single-pair construction and 9451DP, a Siamese construction.

Belden developed the new Brilliance Analog Audio cables in response to the entertainment industry's growing demand for plenum-rated audio cables - especially for sports stadiums. The cables are also well-suited for use in all types of professional and commercial audio environments, including broadcast studios, post-production facilities, sports arenas, corporate boardrooms, convention centers and houses of worship.

Belden's new plenum cables provide fast, easy installation because the Beldfoil bonded-foil shield is bonded to the cable jacket and can be stripped for termination in a single step using conventional cable stripping tools. In addition, the cables' Flamarrest jacket is extremely flexible and easy to pull, and its color-coding provides easy channel identification for stereo applications. Brilliance 9451P is available in 10 colors.

Brilliance 9451P and 9451DP cables feature twisted pairs with 22AWG tinned copper conductors and FEP insulation. Conductors are color-coded and a 22AWG drain wire is inside the foil shield. Both cables are NEC and CEC CMP rated. The new plenum-rated cables have the same electrical properties as two extremely popular Brilliance riser-rated audio cables: Product No. 9451, a single-pair construction and 9451D, a Siamese version. By sharing the same electricals, the plenum-rated cables can be deployed in the same installation as their riser-rated counterparts.
