IndraControl L - Rexroth's New Compact, Modular and Scalable Controller

Company to display its latest controller hardware platform at the National Design Engineering Show, February 23-26, 2004, at the McCormick Place Complex in Chicago, Booth # 1811.

In combination with Rexroth's new IEC61131-3-compliant PLC software platform, IndraLogic, the IndraControl L controller provides users with the freedom and functionality they need to integrate completely scalable PLC solutions into a wide range of equipment and applications by utilizing an extensive range of automation modules.

The new IndraControl L is a DIN rail mount controller that combines the advantages of embedded PC architecture with the highly scalable Rexroth Inline I/O system. Master and slave communications interfaces for Ethernet, PROFIBUS and RS232 have been integrated into the base modules of the IndraControl L. Expansion modules can be installed in the controller to provide additional interfaces such as DeviceNet and ASi. Additional features of this new controller include an integrated display for extensive diagnostic and status messages, an easily accessible CompactFlash(TM) module for program and data storage, plus a built-in power supply to reduce the required installation space.

The IndraControl L controller utilizes Rexroth's Inline I/O system. This provides for a complete range of expansion I/O modules including analog and digital I/O modules in addition to special function modules such as RTD and counter modules.

IndraLogic is the integral PLC software component in Rexroth's new motion control systems, which provides a single point of engineering and enhanced motion logic solutions. A standardized function library, based on PLCopen, has been integrated into the IndraLogic platform to facilitate simple use of drive functions in the PLC programs. In addition to the complete language set defined in IEC 61131-3, IndraLogic provides programmers with an intuitive user interface for performing offline simulation plus a number of online functions including monitoring, debugging, and forcing functions.
