Belden Announces Release of New Platform Software to Enhance Network Availability for Hirschmann(TM) Switches and Routers
RICHMOND, Ind., Oct. 1 -- Belden (NYSE:BDC), a world leader in the development of signal transmission products for the industrial, enterprise, broadcast, building management, and security markets, announces the release of Hirschmann Version 5.0 Platform Management Software. Version 5.0 enables Hirschmann RSR and MACH100 switch customers to connect multiple rings to a primary ring, permitting a higher availability of networks by forming so-called 'sub-rings.'
In addition, Hirschmann Version 5.0 software accelerates boot-up times, it optimizes the HIPER-Ring and RSTP protocols, and it allows various protocols to be combined. Moreover, in combination with Hirschmann's new MICE PTP modules, Version 5.0 supports the new technology of the Precision Time Protocol Version 2.
