Original Press Release:

COADE Updates CADWorx® 2007

Latest edition offers enhanced modeling tools plus improved database reporting and interoperability between 2D process diagrams and the 3D model.

HOUSTON, TEXAS - July 31, 2006 - COADE announced today the release of an updated edition of CADWorx Plant and CADWorx P&ID 2007 with several new capabilities. The CADWorx Plant range has a new LineView interface for an easier, more uncluttered design environment and a new SpecView dynamic menu feature for faster, more accurate selection of components in its specification-driven modeling environment. CADWorx Plant Professional also ships with the latest version of NavisWorks Roamer, version 5.1, with enhanced features and compatibility with AutoCAD 2007 files. The CADWorx P&ID range now has improved database reporting plus stronger links to the physical plant model.

In CADWorx Plant and CADWorx Plant Professional the new LineView command provides an intuitive and easy user interface that leverages the built-in intelligence of CADWorx components to allow the designer to accurately select or isolate components for an uncluttered design environment. Also in the CADWorx Plant Suite, the SpecView feature replaces many component selection toolbars by only presenting those items for selection that are available at the current spec and size settings. The elimination of these toolbars from the working environment and also the use of SpecView's auto-hide feature allow users to reclaim up to 25% of their design screen space. These SpecView capabilities make modeling easier, faster and more intuitive.

CADWorx P&ID Professional now has improved database editing and an enhanced reporting interface with connectivity between the 2D schematics and the 3D plant model. With a touch of a button, users can now check to see if there are any disparities between the number and consistency of components in the P&ID project compared to those in the physical design.

Thomas J. Van Laan, PE, the president of COADE, described the positive reactions among customers with these new features and the capabilities of the latest edition of CADWorx. "Our plant design customers have come to expect every release of our software to not only offer all the tools they need, but also to provide continuous enhancements to make their designs easier, faster and more accurate," explained Van Laan. "Those customers who have had the opportunity to experience the new CADWorx release say we have achieved these targets once again while also providing everything they need in one integrated package."

Anupam Patel, VP, CAD software development at COADE, listed some of the user benefits to be expected with these enhancements. "We all know that accuracy, speed and ease of use are what matter most to our real-world users," Patel said. "These latest tools do all of those things plus they allow the user to do even more complex tasks simultaneously, all while staying organized and in sync."

CADWorx offers intelligent drawing to database connectivity, advanced levels of automation and easy-to-use design tools. Because of these distinct advantages, it has been rapidly adopted by EPC firms and owner operators in the process, power, water treatment, pharmaceutical, food, beverage and semiconductor industries. CADWorx also offers the industry's first and only true bi-directional links between CAD and engineering analysis tools, linking CADWorx with COADE's industry-leading software programs for pipe (CAESAR II) and pressure vessel and exchanger (PV Elite) analysis and design.

CADWorx 2007 is also compatible with AutoCAD 2004 - 2006 plus it takes advantage of many of the features and capabilities of AutoCAD 2007, Autodesk's current release of AutoCAD.
