New Gearhead Sizes Added to Alpha's LP Line
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL - alpha gear drives, Inc. has expanded its LP line of economy planetary gearheads for general motion control. The series now includes 7-to-1 single-stage and 70-to-1 two-stage gear ratios. These new ratios make it easier to match inertias and to achieve optimized servomotor performance in the mid-level range of gearhead sizing.
The new gearhead sizes add to the broadest line on the market: with torque ranges from 46 to 2566 in-lb and ratios from 3-to-1 through 100-to-1. The units are also available in NEMA sizes from 23 to 56.
alpha's new sizes also apply to their LPB series of LP gearbox and integrated belt pulley solutions. The extremely compact LPB eliminates the need for a right angle gearbox and couplings. It directly supports high belt tensions without the need for additional bearings. The unit can handle high radial loads, making it ideal for high-load applications and tight design spaces.
