Pixel Power to Cut Cost of HD Graphics at IBC2006

Launch of Entry-Level and Pro-AV HD/SD Graphics Generators, 3D Options and Logo/Branding Solutions

Cambridge, UK, 18 July 2006: Pixel Power is to expand the market for its Clarity family of SD/HD hybrid graphics solutions with the launch of entry-level and pro-AV variations, plus 3D options and a dedicated, low-cost device for SD/HD logos and branding. The graphics leader is to introduce Clarity 2000 SD/HD entry-level switchable-format character generator (CG), Clarity 50 for smaller broadcasters and AV installations and the low-cost Clarity LoGo for branding and logos.

Clarity2000 offers a rich, easy-to-use feature set with full HD capabilities for the smaller broadcaster and production facility.

Pixel Power will also introduce a Clarity HD/SD series option for realtime 3D animation with parametric control of elements, lighting and moves. This provides the 3D-animation capability of dedicated 3D systems with no 3D experience necessary. With the 3D option, Clarity also imports complex 3D models, including Autodesk 3DS formats, for editing and animation with user-defined key-frames.

Clarity 50 is a cost-effective broadcast and production character generator built upon Clarity's tried and trusted architecture. It incorporates complete functionality for smaller broadcast facilities, post-production and AV installations in churches, stadiums and local government that require an easy-to-use CG without compromising on quality. The compact 1RU Clarity50 is fully automatable for news and data-based displays.

Clarity LoGo incorporates established Clarity system features and SD and HD, including multiple layers of static and animated logos, clocks and crawls. It can be triggered via GPI, serial or Ethernet TCP/IP based automation protocols. Running under an embedded operating system the system features automatic bypass and solid state storage for ultimate reliability. User configuration and setup is via a front panel interface and web browser.

"High definition should not mean high cost, particularly as its presence in Europe strengthens," says Pixel Power MD James Gilbert. "It's about more choice for viewers and broadcasters and these latest additions to the Clarity range support that ethic by delivering quality HD solutions to broadcast operations of all sizes."

Pixel Power will also demonstrate its entire Clarity family of graphics solutions, including the Clarity 3000 SD/HD switchable device, which makes its European debut at IBC2006.

Pixel Power is exhibiting at IBC2006 in Amsterdam on 7-12 September on stand 7.138.
