Piston Gauge produces elevated line pressure to 3,000 psi.

Press Release Summary:

Utilizing one differential piston/cylinder, Model 2482 produces differential pressures from fractions of an inch of water to 100 psi, with differential pressure accuracy of 0.01% plus 0.00007 psi. By adding single mass, it automatically balances piston gauge under computer control and maintains system balance automatically using Thermal Compensator technology. Heaters set in small volume of oil within unit are adjusted to expand oil and return system to balanced condition.

Original Press Release:

2482 Series Designed to Simplify Pressure Sensor and Transmitter Calibrations at Elevated Line Pressure

Houston, TX - June 4, 2003 -- GE Ruska, a business unit of GE Industrial Systems and the General Electric Company (NYSE: GE) has announced the immediate availability of the Model 2482 Differential Pressure Piston Gauge. The new Model 2482 provides a unique approach to simplify the calibration of differential pressure sensors and transmitters at elevated line pressures.

The Model 2482 can produce elevated line pressures to 3000 psi, while easily producing differential pressures from fractions of an inch of water to 100 psi with an accuracy of 0.01% of the differential pressure plus 0.00007 psi.

The unique Model 2482 utilizes a single differential piston/cylinder, which allows generating high accuracy differential pressures with greater ease of use compared to a "twin post" piston gauge, or two separate piston gauges. By using the Model 2482, it is no longer necessary to balance two piston gauges at matched sink rates with small weight differences. By simply adding a single mass, the Model 2482 will automatically balance the piston gauge under computer control. This will not only provide convenience and ease of operation, but it also removes a major source of error due to line pressure effects.

Additionally, the 2482 goes one step further and maintains the system balance automatically using the patented "Thermal Compensator" technology, compensating for any pressure changes due to external influences such as leaks and ambient temperature changes under PC control. Heaters set in a small volume of oil within the 2482 are adjusted to expand the oil and return the system to a balanced condition.
