George Fischer's New Large Diameter PROGEF® Natural (PP-n) Piping System Meets Purity and Corrosion Resistant Demands in Life Science Applications
NEW YORK, NY - March 18, 2004 - George Fischer's new large diameter PROGEF® Natural (PP-n) Piping System, displayed at Interphex 2004, is ideally suited for DIW and PW applications in Life Science applications. The new size range, which includes 75, 90 and 110mm (2-1/2", 3", and 4"), together with the smaller sizes already available, now encompass 20mm (1/2") - 110mm (4"), offering an extensive range of sizes to fulfill virtually any engineering design requirement.
All PROGEF PP-n components are made of FDA-listed and USP conformed materials, providing long-term and consistent quality. The translucent, corrosion resistant properties of PP-n, combined with the strong, seamless fusion welds produced without any irregularities by George Fischer's BCF® Plus (bead and crevice free) Fusion machine, meet the stringent requirements demanded by the life sciences market.
The BCF® Plus Fusion Machine, which uses standard butt fusion fittings, not only reduces costs, but also allows for more compact installations. The BCF Plus unit offers the ability to fuse different materials with the convenience of a single machine and can join not only PP-n, but also SYGEF® Plus PVDF-HP, and SYGEF® Plus PVDF Standard, piping components. Equipped with both 110V and 230V plug interfaces to avoid dependency on mains voltages, the BCF Plus machine complies with the highest EMI (electro-mechanical interference) specifications and provides complete traceability of fusion data. A PCMCIA card and software allows easy electronic documentation without requiring paper printouts, and an integral circular buffer accepts up to 1800 fusion protocols. George Fischer also offers a complete certification training program for the BCF Plus system.
George Fischer's large diameter PROGEF PP-n System is offered with a wide range of components including elbows, T's, unions, diaphragm valves (manual and actuated), zero static diaphragm valves, reducers, flange adapters and custom fabricated components. The piping system is pressure rated to 150 psi through 63mm (2") and 90 psi from 75mm (2-1/2") to 110mm (4") when measured at 68° F. Combined with the cost-saving BCF Plus Fusion joining machine, the system provides a comprehensive and economical system ideally suited for life science applications.
