Quick Fix Clamp Eliminates Downtime for Leak Repair

The Quick Fix pipe repair clamp from Reparex, Inc., Latrobe, Pa., provides a quick, durable fix for wear-generated leaks in pneumatic conveying lines and elbows carrying abrasive materials. A Quick Fix clamp consists of tough, wear-resistant alumina ceramic tiles encased in a flexible polyurethane pad, and includes a strong nylon strap with a hand-operated tightening ratchet. Simply place the pad over the hole in the pipe and tighten the strap to stop the leak. The pad conforms to the pipe diameter, and the ceramic tiles provide high wear resistance and added rigidity.

Unlike other repair systems that can require hours for application and curing of epoxy -- and usually require shutdown of the conveying system -- the Quick Fix clamp can be applied in minutes with little or no interruption of operations. The clamps are effective in both dry and wet applications. Preparation is minimal: users need only remove scale from the pipe and wipe it clean. No adhesive or additional sealing media is necessary. The Quick Fix clamp can also be reused.

For holes up to 3/8" (10 mm) in diameter, the clamps can contain pressure as high as 290 psi (2000 Kpa). For holes 3/8" and 3/4" (10- 20 mm), pressure capability is 145 psi (1000 Kpa).

Clamps are available for three ranges of pipe diameter: 3 5/8" - 8" (90-200 mm), 6" - 12" (150-300 mm), and 12" - 20" (300-500 mm). Larger sizes are available on request.
