Perforated Bronze Bushings for Longer Lubrication Intervals
Thorofare, N.J., May 15, 2003 - LD(TM) heavy-duty, wear-resistant bronze bushings from Glacier Garlock Bearings (GGB) feature perforated solid strip construction for longer lubrication intervals than indented monometal plain bearings. Designed for use with oil, grease and process fluid lubricants, LD bushings also provide improved wear performance due to capture of dirt and debris in their perforations.
Typical applications include mechanical handling and lifting equipment, hydraulic cylinders, pneumatic equipment, medical equipment, textile machinery and agricultural equipment. The bearings are available as cylindrical and flanged bushings, as well as custom parts.
Maximum static specific load (p) is 43,500 psi (300 MPa) static; maximum dynamic load is 17,400 psi (120 MPa) and 5,800 psi (40 MPa) rotating > 7 fps (2 m/s). Maximum recommended sliding speed U is 3 fps (1 m/s) with grease lubrication. Operating temperature range is -40°F to +482°F (-40°C to +250°C) with grease lubrication and -40°F to +302°F (-40°C to +150°C) with oil lubrication. Coefficient of friction (f) is 0.065-0.15 with grease lubrication. Recommended shaft surface finish Ra is less than or equal to 0.8 um; recommended shaft hardness is >200 HB and >350 HB for service life >2,000 hours.
