Strategic Investment to Better Serve Customers, Maximize Revenues Across its More Than 600 Retail Locations
NEW YORK, Jan. 14 -- NRF 97th ANNUAL CONVENTION & EXPO -- The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB), an independent government agency that regulates the beverage alcohol industry in Pennsylvania, has enlisted Oracle® Retail applications, the Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion Middleware. The Oracle applications and infrastructure software will help the PLCB more effectively manage purchase orders and improve inventory management.
As one of the largest purchasers of wine and spirits in North America, the PLCB generates annual sales of more than $1.6 billion. The Board operates some 630 Wine & Spirits stores across Pennsylvania, while also affording customers significant discounts and savings.
"In addition to our continued efforts to promote the responsible consumption of alcohol, we are focused on providing Pennsylvanians with a superior retail experience in our Wine & Spirits stores," said Patrick "P.J." Stapleton III, chairman of the PLCB. "We see a significant opportunity to leverage Oracle's products to help deliver additional revenue to the people of Pennsylvania and improve our services. The PLCB understands that it can better serve its customers by taking a retail-specific approach and leveraging industry best practices."
The PLCB's new Oracle platform will help integrate merchandising, sales and inventory reporting, and category and financial management processes.
"We look forward to supporting the agency and putting our retail expertise and enterprise technologies to work for them so that they can infuse even more dollars back into the Pennsylvania economy and into the hands of citizens," said Duncan Angove, General Manager and Senior Vice President, Oracle Retail.
