PCB Connectors address shrinking size requirements.

Press Release Summary:

Connectors within 3B and 3C DIN 41612 product range suit smaller PCBs. Each 3B and 3C DIN 41612 product complements existing type 2B and 2C HARTING product ranges. Tested according to IEC 60 603-2, connectors with 20 or 30 pins are based on 0.1 in. contact spacing and can carry 2 A per contact. Male and female connectors can be ordered with or without fixing flange, which further decreases required space. Press-in termination, wave soldering, and SMC processes are supported.

HARTING DIN 41612 Type 3B / 3C

Smaller size with the same robustness

ELGIN, Ill. - As the As packaging requirements for electronic components on PCBs continue to increase a PCB increases, the PCBs and associated the components are decreasing in size are getting smaller. This trend leads to the requirements for smaller connectors. To meet this need, HARTING now offers new types of solutions within the 3B and 3C DIN 41612 product range. These connectors are ideal for small PCBs as they require less space.

The new 3B and 3C DIN 41612 products complement the existing type 2B and 2C HARTING product ranges. The connectors with 20 or 30 pins are based on 0.1 inch (2.54mm) contact spacing and can carry 2 A per contact. They are tested according to the IEC 60 603-2.

Both the male and female connectors can be ordered with or without fixing flange, which decreases further the required space. The connectors are available for press-in termination, wave soldering and Surface Mount Compatible (SMC) processes. For the SMC versions, high temperature material is used which makes them ideally suited for reflow soldering. In addition to the standard versions, HARTING also offers customer specific assemblies.

All HARTING products are supported and distributed from HARTING North America, Elgin, Illinois.
