Gigabit Fibre Channel (ANSI X3.230) Communication Board



San Diego, CA - April 20, 2004 - Fibre Channel (ANSI X3.230) communication is now available at gigabit speeds for both fiber optic and copper cable applications. The Wintriss Engineering Gigabit Fibre Channel Board is compatible with standard PCI bus configured Personal Computers and incorporates the Texas Instruments TLK1501 bi-directional, serial, point-to-point transceiver chip. Applications include imaging and vision systems, satellite communication systems, test equipment and military applications.

Balanced, twisted pair Fibre Channel copper cables can be used for runs up to 200 meters, and runs of up to two km are possible with fiber optic cables. A compact PCI version of the board is also available.
