ClearCube Technology Releases Powerful Next Generation PC Blades

Blades are the Industry's First Vista Capable PC blades and Include the First Dual-Core PC blade

AUSTIN, Texas, June 26 // -- ClearCube Technology, the market leader in centralized computing solutions, today announced the availability of two new high-performance PC blades. The new ClearCube R1300 blade features an Intel dual core Pentium processor and the R2200 employs dual Intel Xeon processors with Hyper-Threading (HT). Both PC blades are the fastest, single- and dual-processor PC Blades available and are designed to significantly enhance the enterprise user experience. Both blades are fully capable of running Microsoft's upcoming Vista operating system, including Aero, Vista's advanced user interface.

The new blades are an integral part of the ClearCube solution, which enables secure wired or wireless user connections between centralized blades and remote access devices. The blades also are complemented by the new ClearCube Sentral management software, which enables IT administrators to manage entire blade deployments from a single console. In addition, Sentral supports virtualized desktop computing environments, enabling IT departments to increase the utilization of their compute resources without affecting the end-user experience.

"With Vista on the horizon and client virtualization becoming more prevalent, IT administrators need to consider the viability of their investments over time," said Roger Kay, president of Endpoint Technologies Associates. "These updated blades have plenty of headroom."

The R1300 is a single processor blade and offers the choice between a Pentium D dual-core processor or a Pentium 4 processor with Hyper-Threading. Both processors offer improved performance for demanding, multi-task environments. Additionally, the R1300 includes dual Ethernet ports to support multiple networks and a custom slot for an optional PCI-Express graphics card that supports up to four monitors when combined with the ClearCube Multi-Video eXpander (MVX).

"The outstanding performance and power efficiency of Intel's dual core processors provide PC blade users with tremendous advantages," said Greg Pearson, vice president of the Intel Americas Sales and Marketing Group. "There is immense opportunity in the future of centralized computing in industries like healthcare, government and financial services."

The R2200 features dual Intel Xeon processors with Hyper-Threading. This high-performance solution is ideal for mission critical environments such as financial trading floors that require workstation level capabilities. The R2200 also includes built-in RAID support, dual gigabit Ethernet ports and PCI-Express graphics and quad monitor support.

"Blades are the backbone of any centralized computing solution and they have to meet the performance needs of users today while 'future proofing' for upcoming technologies like Vista and virtualization," said Carl Boisvert, president and CEO of ClearCube. "Unlike our competitors, our blades are backwards compatible and are designed to scale with their enterprise in the future."

As centralized computing continues to grow, new deployment models are emerging. Organizations are deploying virtualized clients as well as compute grids to better leverage their hardware investments. ClearCube's new blades and powerful Sentral management software help enterprises easily adopt these new technology approaches.
