Paxonix Enhances PaxPro PaxForms with New Integration Server and Business Rules Engine
WALTHAM, Mass., March 12 - Paxonix, a MeadWestvaco company offering a web-based packaging and marketing process management service, today announced significant enhancements to its flagship product, PaxPro. PaxPro drives business success by accelerating branding and packaging processes across an entire enterprise, improving quality and reducing rework.
The PaxForm functionality of PaxPro, first introduced in November 2005, has been enhanced by the addition of the Paxonix Data Integration Server (PDIS) and a new Paxonix Business Rules Engine (PBRE).
Forms that conform
Whether for a new package design, or something as simple as a label change, companies must share, for review and approval, structured information among multiple people inside and outside their company. PaxForms facilitate and automate this process by initiating such tasks. PaxForms are intelligent forms that understand a company's business processes and take actions based on the company's specific preferences and requirements. PaxForms connect people, systems, processes and data to reduce cycle times.
Serving up synchronization
No doubt your packaging and branding projects are as disparate as the systems in which the information - graphics, pricing, SKU reference numbers, etc. - resides. But with the new Paxonix Data Integration Server various applications within legacy systems communicate route information intuitively.
Take for example the initiation of a new SKU. The Paxonix Data Integration Server will tap one legacy system to generate the SKU, and converse with another to automatically create a PaxForm to kick off the activities associated with all the packaging or marketing promotions needed to support the product launch. With the PDIS, users benefit from streamlined workflows and less human input - resulting in fewer errors.
Following the rules
As each company has its own set of business practices that its membership must adhere to, the new Paxonix Business Rules Engine was designed to support and enforce company-specific rules. Customizable to address a number of rules stemming from issues such as Sarbanes Oxley compliance to federal food and drug requirements, the PBRE enhances organizational agility with fewer opportunities for miscommunication or error.
Collectively, the Paxonix Business Rules Engine, PaxForms and the Paxonix Data Integration Server help marketing and packaging manage or avoid bottlenecks, anticipate fluctuating demands, identify the availability of resources, and handle updates to policies and practices.
Regarding putting process to packaging, AMR Research's Kevin O'Marah states, "Time and cost savings in the 50% range are credible and proven. If a single artwork change costs $20K to $40K, this could add up fast for companies making hundreds or thousands of such changes per year."
"The latest PaxPro release featuring enhancements to PaxForms with the addition of the Paxonix Data Integration Server and the Paxonix Business Rules Engine is our most significant upgrade to date. PaxForms will change the way companies with multiple brands, layers of players and a global reach conduct business," said Kent St.Vrain, Paxonix Vice President Marketing and Business Development. "Beyond speeding up the routing process, PaxPro promises to reduce data entry, as well as human error and ensure the consistency of our customers' business processes."
