Arista Strengthens Cougar Series of Panel PC Products Designed for Kiosk, Industrial and Point of Sale Applications


ARP-1617AP is latest product addition to Arista Corporation's growing line of Panel PCs

FREMONT, Calif., - April 2, 2003 - Arista Corporation, a leading industrial PC solutions provider and system integrator, today announced the ARP-1617AP Panel PC is now available. The latest product addition to the Cougar Series line of Panel PCs is ideal for kiosk, point of sale and industrial applications.

The Panel PC is well equipped and designed as a fully functional PC supporting up to 133 MHz Intel Pentium IlIl or Celeron Processor. It's the ideal solution platform for any customized kiosk integration, point of sales and industrial automation. It is fully configurable upon request and its versatile front bezel meets stringent industrial waterproof standards. The Panel PC with aluminum bezel is designed for various kiosk integrations or panel mounting on any industrial floor as well as mounted in wall applications.

Designed with multiple I/O ports making it easy to add peripheral devices, the ARP 1617AP is equipped with PS/2 interfaces, dual USB, three RS-232 and one RS-232/422/485 port. The Panel PC features a 17" 1280 x 1024 resolution XGA TFT color display with a viewing angle of almost 80 degrees. In addition the Panel features a touch screen enhancement for optimal user interface within machine control or plant floor applications placing the power of the PC at the user's fingertips. The device is also equipped with an integrated Realtek 10/100 Base-T Ethernet controller for possible high-speed connection to Internet or Intranet-specific applications. The Panel PC supports up to 512 MB of SDRAM, contains a 2.5" hard drive, Slim CD-ROM, FDD and one socket supporting Disk-on-Chip. Allowing for the Panel PC to be installed almost anywhere, the ARP 1617 needs a minimum of 95 V to operate.

The ARP-1617 is designed for installation in harsh environments including plant floor operations, rugged KIOSK locations and medical facilities. The Panel PC can withstand temperatures from 32 degrees F to 113 degrees F and can handle up to 1G in operational shock. The unit is 17.8 inches wide, 13.51 inches tall and 3.05 inches deep allowing for the unit to be installed quickly and easily.
