Panasonic Expands Line of Super Dynamic III Cameras

New Analog Outdoor SDIII PTZ and New i-Pro IP SDIII PTZ Deliver Panasonic's Renowned Intelligent Technology.

San Diego, CA (September 25, 2006) - Panasonic Security Systems, a division of Panasonic System Solutions Company (PSSA), continues to set new benchmarks in security camera performance with its widely recognized Super Dynamic III (SDIII) technology. New SDIII introductions for analog platform systems applications include a feature-packed outdoor PTZ dome camera with advanced auto tracking and analytics, as well as a new vandal proof dome camera. In addition, Panasonic adds its SDIII technology to its new i-Pro color network PTZ camera.

"SDIII is a quantum leap in camera technology for superior image reproduction and intelligent features. We've developed SDIII across a complete line of products that support both analog and IP platforms for system-wide applications." said Miguel Lazatin, Product Marketing Manager - Cameras, Panasonic Security Systems. "SDIII's performance capabilities far exceed any camera technology developed for security applications, providing imaging characteristics and feature sets required by the most demanding environments and surveillance installations."

SDIII cameras are so intelligent, they virtually think for themselves. Available in dome and fixed camera systems - and dome systems designed for outdoor and vandal proof applications - these intelligent cameras incorporate a host of innovative features that allow them to automatically react and continually adjust themselves in real time - with minimal if any operator intervention.

SDIII's powerful intelligent processing also drives numerous unique DSP features such as Auto Back Focus, which automatically adjusts camera focus when switching from color to black-and-white operation and back again to color. This is achieved through an innovative mechanism that moves the position of the CCD within the camera to achieve the most accurate focus attainable in the given lighting. Additional DSP advancements include Auto Image Stabilizer for camera deployment in areas that may be prone to wind and other sources of vibration; Scene Change Detection that sends an alarm when the camera's lens is obstructed or the camera angle changed without authorization; Auto Tracking to follow an individual's movements within the camera's field of view; and Adaptive Digital Noise Reduction to minimize image streaking when viewing moving images.

New SDIII introductions for analog system platforms include:

WV-CW974 SDIII Outdoor PTZ is the most advanced dome camera system available. It features a comprehensive feature set that includes advanced auto tracking with analytics and user adjustable tracking parameters for object size, duration, and direction of movement. Additional features include: improved waterproof, anti-shock design for continuous reliable operation; built-in dehumidification device; 540 TVL in color mode; Day/Night operation with a minimum illumination of only 0.5 lux in color and 0.04 in BW; 30X optical zoom (300X with 10X electronic zoom); and 400°/sec panning speed.

WV-CW484 Series SDIII Weather Proof Dome Camera offers a wide range of features to provide superior image acquisition in demanding outdoor environments. Key features include: Day/Night operation with a minimum illumination of 0.8 lux color and 0.2 lux BW (with optional dome cover); built-in digital motion detection; 540 TVL in color; 2X variable focus lens; and a 3-way hinge for versatile mounting.

New SDIII introductions for i-Pro IP system platforms include:

i-Pro WV-NS202 Color Network PTZ Dome Camera brings Super Dynamic III (SDIII) technology to a networked platform. The camera's SDIII performance provides 128x dynamic range for superior image reproduction in virtually any lighting condition, MJPEG and MPEG-4 dual streaming outputs for simultaneous monitoring and recording at up to 30 fps; 22x optical zoom, Power over Ethernet (PoE), progressive output for smooth reproduction of moving objects, minimum illumination of only 0.7 lux.
