Porter-Cable Introducer 6-1/2
FEBRUARY 8, 2002 - ATLANTA, GA - Porter-Cable introduced today its new 6-1/2" palm nailer kit - the model PN650 - during the International Builders' Show in Atlanta, Georgia. Nailing & Stapling Product Manager Jorge Silveira said, "The model PN650 palm nailer kit delivers great value to end-users looking for two key features when they shop for a palm nailer... more versatility and increased comfort." The PN650 is designed to tackle a variety of applications such as joist hangers, framing, fencing, moldings, dowels, landscaping spikes, carpet tack strips, and even automotive body work. Porter-Cable's new 6-1/2" palm nailer kit offers four nose tips, which are used interchangeably depending on the application. The tips include: (1) a non-marring finish tip for finish nails up to 3d; (2) a magnetic tip for common nails between 3d and 16d; (3) a standard tip for common nails up to 70d; and (4) a steel hammer tip for moldings, dowels, and automotive repair. Touting a multi-bow action (2,300 BPM's @ 100 psi), the PN650 drives nails through a series of continuous blows. Once the nail reaches the desired depth, a fluctuating piston disengages to stop driving the nail. Packed with plenty of power, this unit features a depth of drive control that is adjusted simply by unscrewing the tip, removing the stacked washers inside, and placing the tip back on the nailer. Weighing only three pounds, the model PN650 offers superior comfort to minimize user fatigue. Also, the kit includes a durable padded glove for added comfort and precise control. The glove provides a convenient VelCro strap that adjusts easily to fit any user's hand, both large and small. Like many other Porter-Cable nailers, the model PN650 comes as a kit version, which includes the basic nailer, embroider glove, non-marring finish tip, magnetic tip, standard tip, steel hammer tip, a plastic carrying case with storage compartments nose tips, oil, wrenches, and operator's manual. Available in late February, the model PN650 palm nailer kit is expected to sell for approximately $149. Porter-Cable Corporation (www.porter-cable.com), a subsidiary of Pentair, Inc.
