Transtector Systems Introduces VPR-30 Console Overvoltage Protector for Motorola
Transtector Systems, a Smiths Interconnect company, has developed a unique, high speed, high current, solid state surge suppressor to protect first responder headsets and CIE processor applications. The silicon suppressor (SASD) offers optimal protection against lightning strikes, electrostatic discharge and power line crossing events for Centracom, Centracom Gold and Centracom Gold Elite dispatch consoles.
"Until recently, dispatch operators have had limited protection against over-voltage events," says Mark Hendricks, Projects Engineering at Transtector. "The VPR-30 is uniquely compatible with leading dispatch systems and offers excellent human safety and equipment reliability."
The unit measures approximately 2 inches (5cm) by 2 inches (5cm) (not including mounting tabs) and is 1.75 inches (4.5cm) deep. A 12 inch (30cm), 10-pin, ribbon cable connector is also provided. The unit is designed to meet UL 497A specifications.
