Latest NetCracker Product Enhancements Streamline Telecom Operations, Make OSS Management Easier
Waltham, MA-March 9, 2004-NetCracker Technology, a leading provider of OSS and IT Infrastructure Management Solutions, today announced the latest update to the company's NetCracker OSS solution. Available to existing and new NetCracker users, the newly released NetCracker solution streamlines telecom operations by simplifying a number of processes critical for service provisioning. Enhancements were made to a number of NetCracker product modules including NetCracker Auto Design & Assign, NetCracker Outside Plant, NetCracker Network Inventory, and the NetCracker OSS Engine. Some of NetCracker's newest enhancements include:
NetCracker Auto Design & Assign
o "Domain routing," which permits the treatment of large networks as a set of smaller networks based on geographical or administrative boundaries, and construct paths that adhere to those boundaries;
o Circuit design improvements that enable users to compare the results of path-finding operations to a pre-built sample and flag discrepancies for review;
o Enhanced support for path diversity including physical link diversity and location diversity;
o Configurability enhancements for protected path finding and multi-layer path finding.
NetCracker Outside Plant
o The ability to color-code cables according to specific vendors and conduits;
o Graphical cable path representation;
o Additional tools for managing cleaving, placing conduits and calculating routes, and managing cable and building entry.
NetCracker Network Inventory
o Improved support for various network topologies;
o Workflow and work order templates for network build-outs.
NetCracker OSS Engine:
o Additional out of the box functionality including business operations for integration with 3rd-party systems, improvements in workflow debugging module, additional capabilities for core object model;
o Support for WebLogic 8.1 and Oracle 9i.
