Fremont,CA April 28, 2006 -- With funding supplied by the City of Exeter, California, the City of Exeter Police Department (CEPD) has chosen Ortega InfoSystems to provide its VideoSmart(TM) IP Video/Audio solution for a security surveillance program covering the important facilities within the city.
The Objective of this IP Video Surveillance System is to leverage existing technology to enhance the situational awareness of first responders at banks, schools, and other public facilities. The system deployed must be able to provide critical information directly to the Officers including access to premise video cameras, floor plans, access/exit points, contact lists, and pre-planned staging/command areas. The system must provide end-to-end security. The system must provide seamless integration across facilities with minimal responder setup. Ideally, this system would leverage existing equipment currently deployed at the premise facilities.
Working with the project system integrator, Vela Technologies, Ortega is integrating the VideoSmart solution, which fulfills the above requirements, into a wireless network consisting of IP stationary and PTZ cameras. Ortega's Web-based GUI (graphical user interface) software will manage the system, allowing dispatching personnel to access, monitor, and control the citywide surveillance system centrally or remotely through a web browser on the wireless network.
VideoSmart(TM) software is based on Ortega's broadly-deployed FacilitySm@rt(TM) mapping and security management software, and offers a powerful, integrated IP video and audio solution for the enforcement authorities that require transmitting the security camera video image during an alarm to dispatch and to the responding units in real time.
