Oracle's CRM Applications Recognised as Top Performer in Western Europe by Leading Analyst Firm

GENEVA, Switzerland 13-NOV-2007 12:42 PM A recent IDC report, "Western Europe CRM Applications Competitive Analysis 2007," states that Oracle is the leading Customer Relationship Management (CRM) vendor in Western Europe. According to the report, Oracle enjoyed a 15 per cent market share of the Euros2.2 billion Western European applications market in 2006.

The study, which found that the Western European market for CRM applications has grown by 8 per cent from 2005, evaluated the largest CRM vendors in a number of segments including by country, by functionality, customer size and deployment models offered (on-demand versus on-premise deployments). IDC applied its Leadership Grid framework to rank current leading vendors in terms of their ability to capture future market share.

Bo Lykkegaard, Program Manager, European Enterprise Applications, IDC, said, "IDC expects Oracle to grow its CRM applications revenue in 2007 mainly due to strong demand for the company's Siebel products, in particular in financial services, CPG and public sector. Going forward, Oracle also plans to grow Siebel CRM On Demand sales in Europe pushed by telesales, presales specialists, and local specialist field representatives." *

According to the report, revenues across Western Europe relating to marketing CRM applications grew in general by 14% in 2006, while sales applications grew by 10% and customer service/contact centre applications by 4%. In terms of vertical revenue generation, Oracle grew its industry-specific CRM revenues in manufacturing, financial services and customer service industries.

"Considering the highly competitive European CRM market, Oracle's leadership position is testament to its commitment to delivering success and innovation to help organizations better address the needs of their customers," said Loic le Guisquet, Senior Vice President for Oracle EMEA CRM. "In our experience, businesses looking to invest in CRM evaluate a whole host of variables before committing to a vendor; the technology itself, the product roadmap as well as the available deployment options. We excel in all of these areas, which is ultimately why we are leading the industry in Western Europe."

In 2006, revenues relating to Oracle's CRM applications across Western Europe were relatively balanced, with Oracle's fastest adoption rates coming from Belgium, France, Norway, Ireland and Sweden.

Oracle CRM customers across Western Europe include leading brands such as Amazing Global Technologies, Ambu A/S, Experian, Horizon Healthcare, Hotels B&B, London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Netstore, SAS Cargo Group A/S, Slovak Telecom, Swisscom Mobile and Zurcher Kantonalbank
