Oracle Certifies JD Edwards EnterpriseOne with Oracle®Fusion Middleware

Certification Gives JD Edwards Customers a Standards-Based Platform for Integrating Heterogeneous Applications and Hot-Pluggable Fusion Middleware

ORACLE OPENWORLD, SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 19 -- Marking a major milestone in the delivery of Oracle(R) Project Fusion, Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL) today announced it has certified Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications with Oracle Fusion Middleware 10g Release 2. Following the certification of Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i with Oracle Fusion Middleware 10g Release 2, this series of certifications will make it easier for organizations to integrate and extend the value of their enterprise applications using Oracle Fusion Middleware software.

In an effort to fully merge the best features and functions of Oracle's application product lines and streamline application integration within a common Oracle Fusion Architecture, Oracle announced its roadmap for certifying JD Edwards and PeopleSoft applications with Oracle Fusion Middleware software in April 2005. Completion of the JD Edwards certification enables organizations to use components of Oracle Fusion Middleware software such as Oracle Containers for J2EE, Oracle BPEL Process Manager, Oracle Identity Management and Oracle Portal, to support their entire enterprise including business applications, custom applications and standards-compliant enterprise services.

"Organizations are already using Oracle Fusion Middleware's open and hot-pluggable architecture to support their Oracle and non-Oracle applications," said Oracle Senior Vice President of Oracle Fusion Middleware Development, Thomas Kurian. "Certifying JD Edwards for Oracle Fusion Middleware further addresses customer demand for a simplified and standards-based means of integrating heterogeneous applications; it also represents a starting point for customers planning to upgrade applications evolving from Oracle's Project Fusion initiative."

SOA Enables Quick, Easy Adaptation to Changing Business Requirements

Oracle Fusion Middleware's standards-based platform allows developers to rapidly assemble composite applications to meet dynamic business needs. It enables customers to integrate applications within a portal environment or at the data or business process layers; define, manage and change security policies across a collection of business services and lays the overall foundation for a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). As a result of this certification, JD Edwards applications are certified to run on Oracle Containers for J2EE. Application developers can use Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle's Business Integration technologies to expose JD Edwards extended integration points as a set of discreet business services. Then, using Oracle BPEL Process Manager, these business services can be composed into new processes and applications and deployed in SOAs -- leading to a more flexible and agile infrastructure. JD Edwards customers can access JD Edwards applications from an enterprise portal developed using Oracle Portal. These customers will also have comprehensive security, single sign-on and identity management provided by Oracle Identity Management.

With this certification, Independent Software Vendors can use Oracle Fusion Middleware software to integrate with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications.
