Honeywell Introduces Optical Keyless Sensor For Automotive Passive Entry Systems
FREEPORT, Ill., June 11, 2004 - Honeywell [NYSE: HON] Sensing and Control has developed a versatile passive keyless sensor in a robust, rugged and compact package for integration into automobile manufacturer's passive keyless entry systems. The Honeywell Optical solution offers a unique combination of fast response time, low power consumption, and adaptable placement that makes this keyless sensor very cost effective reducing overall system costs. It allows for an easy, hands-free keyless entry into the vehicle with no searching for a key fob providing instantaneous detection when the driver reaches for the door handle. Typical response time is less than 3.5 milliseconds and is adaptable to specific system supplier requirements utilizing minimal power consumption of less than 300 micro-Amps.
Honeywell's Opto-electronic sensor provides designers with the flexibility to integrate the sensor with virtually any type of door handle regardless of its shape or manufacturing process employed and can be located inside the door handle bracket or inside the handle itself.
