BETHPAGE, N.Y., June 21 / -- Cablevision Systems Corp. (NYSE:CVC) today announced the completion of a significant value-added speed upgrade for all Optimum Online high-speed Internet customers, and the introduction of a 30 megabit-per-second (Mbps) premium tier, Optimum Online Boost, for residential and business customers across its entire New York, New Jersey and Connecticut service area.

Optimum Online now delivers downstream speeds of up to 15 Mbps and up to 2 Mbps upstream, a significant increase at no additional cost from former speeds of 10 Mbps downstream and 1 Mbps upstream. In addition, residential and business customers can upgrade their broadband service with Optimum Online Boost, a new premium tier, which provides downstream speeds of up to 30 Mbps, 2 Mbps upstream, along with a host of advanced new product features. Optimum Online Boost is available for an additional cost of $14.95 per month, $9.95 per month for residential customers who also subscribe to Optimum Voice.

Optimum Online Boost, the nation's fastest broadly deployed high-speed Internet service, is now available across Cablevision's entire market of 4.5 million homes and hundreds of thousands of businesses. The premium service offers speeds 39 times faster than the 768 kilobits-per-second (Kbps) DSL service currently being broadly marketed by phone companies. In addition to speed, Optimum Online Boost includes a host of new features and benefits designed for residential and business customers with higher-bandwidth needs, including:

o Up to 15 e-mail addresses with 1 gigabyte of storage per address, for a total of 15 gigabytes of storage, and the ability to send extremely large e-mail attachments in excess of 20 Megabytes.

o Web hosting capabilities, with tools that enable customers to build and maintain their own Web sites.

o Advanced configurations that include DDNS, Port 25 and Port 80.

Optimum Online provides service to more than 1.8 million customers, 40 percent of the homes passed by Cablevision's fiber-rich network and more than half of all Internet-connected homes in Cablevision's service area. For the second year in a row, the readers of PC Magazine named Cablevision's Optimum Online the top broadband service in the nation according to the publication's 18th Annual Reader Satisfaction Survey for Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Optimum Online received the coveted Reader's Choice Award and was given the highest overall rating among all broadband providers in the nation, with top ratings in the categories of speed and reliability.
