Optimism Takes over

Review on LASER World of PHOTONICS in Munich

Munich. World's leading trade show for optical technologies, the Laser World of PHOTINICS, took place during the past week. LIMO Lissotschenko Mikrooptik GmbH from Dortmund, Germany was also one of more than 1040 exhibiting companies. All the participators made clear again that optical technologies have an enormous economic potential and that this has to be capitalized during the next years. Especially the main topics "Laser in Photovoltaics Manufacturing" and "Biophotonic and Life Sciences" allured several interested visitors from industry and science.

LIMO showcased innovative novelties from the range of photovoltaics and biophotonics: The g2T®-Scan System, which has been presented for the first time, is constructed for laser direct materials structuring with conventional single-mode lasers specifically at 532 nm, in particular for solar cell manufacturing. Another innovation attracted the fair goers interest: the brand new LAZO Workstation for process development with the goal of higher productivity and lower per unit costs in photovoltaic and semiconductor applications.

Compact, efficient and equipped with special medical accessories: LIMO's medical diode lasers "Made in Germany" met the experts interest.

LIMO CMO Dr. Paul Harten is satisfied with the course of the show: "The tense economic situation is definitely perceptible - but that does not prevent a successful trade show. In 2007 many guests came to our booth, just to collect general information. This year, we noted less visitors. But they stopped by with rather concrete interests in our solutions already on their minds. At present, our customers seem to plan their visits more efficiently. In times of tight budgets there are less visitors who only have a look."
