Optical Testing Service offers interferometric capabilities.

Press Release Summary:

With QED Sub-aperture Stitching Interferometer, optical fabrication and testing services provide radius of curvature and surface figure measurements for high numerical aperture and large aperture optics. Automated SSI system features 5-axis CNC machine base with Zygo VeriFire AT(TM) phase-shifting interferometer capable of measuring lenses up to 280 mm dia. It acquires and stitches sub-aperture data, calculates, and compensates for reference wave-front errors with lambda/100 P-V accuracies.

Janos Technology Expands Optical Testing Services

November 18, 2005 - Keene, New Hampshire - Janos Technology, Inc., a global supplier of advanced optical assemblies and precision infrared (IR) optics, announces the addition of the QED Sub-aperture Stitching Interferometer (SSI®). The SSI will greatly expand Janos' current range of optical fabrication and testing services by increasing
interferometric capabilities, providing radius of curvature and surface figure measurements for both high numerical aperture (NA) and large aperture optics.

The automated SSI work station features a 5-axis CNC machine base integrated with a Zygo VeriFire AT(TM) phase-shifting interferometer capable of measuring lenses up to
280 mm diameter and (NA) of 1. The SSI automatically acquires and stitches sub-aperture data, calculates and compensates for reference wave-front errors thus achieving better than lambda/100 P-V accuracies (@632.8 nm).

Erik Stover, director of research and development for Janos Technology, notes, "The new sub-aperture stitching interferometer will enhance the precision metrology that is available from Janos Technology. We're pleased to offer this extraordinary capability to our customers who require precision metrology of high NA and large aperture optical components."

Janos Technology offers custom precision optics, optical assemblies, and a family of thermal imaging lenses, ideal for multi-spectral applications in military and defense, industrial, commercial OEM, R&D, aerospace and astronomy. The company's online store also features the web's largest selection of COTS optical components.

Janos Technology, Inc. (www.janostech.com), Keene, New Hampshire, is a premier manufacturer of precision optics including optical assemblies, diamond turned and diffractive optics. Since 1970, Janos has specialized in the design, fabrication, and coating of infrared components and systems. Janos also makes infrared camera lenses for both OEM partners and individual users. The newly designed, 40,000 square foot plant in Keene, NH houses the company's 80 employees with an additional 10 positions currently available.
