Servo-Tek has an innovative optical encoder which is the PT Series Modular Encoder with 1-1024 cycles per revolution. The PT series encoders are a cost effective solution to velocity and positional feedback. When mounted to any rotating shaft, the PT series encoder provides a single or dual channel square wave output for speed and position control. The small size of the PT series encoder makes it easy to use where space is limited.The hollow shaft design is easy to mount with no cou¬pling or tedious alignment procedures.
The electrical specification include resolution Up to 1024 lines/rev. The bandwidth is 100 kHz maximum, power options of 5, 12, 15 and 24VDC. It also has an internal pullup resistor of 10 kilohms.
The mechanical specifications include diameter and height 2.0 OD x 0.9 inches, shielded cable of 3-conductor 24 AWG, weight of 2 ounces and housing which consists of Derlin (black). The shaft type hollow shaft, a shaft speed of 20,000 RPM Maximum and shaft bore of 0.188" or 0.251" standard. The mounting center 1 is #4-40 on 1.812 inch BC and mounting center 2 is #6-32 on 1.500 inch BC. The operating temperature is 0ºC to+70ºC.
