Laser Optical Distance Sensor Delivers Ultra Precise Measurement

The new ODS 8 Laser Optical Distance Measurement Sensor from Leuze Lumiflex combines the triangulation method with an innovative CCD technology to deliver ultra-precise measurement results. Using a laser diode as it's light source The ODS 8 has a measurement range of between 20 and 400 mm's at a resolution of .01mm. The ODS 8 offers convenient teach-in programming and parameterization via an RS 232 interface and values that can be read out in both analog and digital forms. The ODS 8 also offers analog current and voltage output, adjustable measurement range and mode as well as optional programming software and mounting systems. These features combined with a rugged metal housing and an insensitivity to extraneous light make the ODS 8 the preferred choice for position work, height measurement or level control.
