OnRelay MBX to Support Microsoft Windows Mobile 6

More Mobiles Now Able to Take Advantage of Unique Software That Removes Redundant Desk Phones and Expensive Infrastructure

LONDON, February 6/ -- OnRelay today released a beta version of its MBX software to support Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 Professional and Standard. This has been made available for customer trials.

Feedback from customers and service providers has reinforced the importance of having OnRelay's MBX software compatible with Microsoft Windows Mobile 6, as well as all other leading smartphone platforms.

"This launch expands OnRelay's MBX capability to the fastest growing segment of mobile handsets. Our customers benefit from being able to roll out Windows mobile handsets as an integrated part of their voice infrastructure,"
says Ivar Plahte, CEO, OnRelay.

Microsoft Windows Mobile is proving popular in office environments as users are familiar with the user interface and functionality of the Microsoft environment. Many users are upgrading to enjoy the benefits of Windows Mobile
6 and many new devices are being launched on this platform.

"Fixed Mobile Convergence solutions offer end-users PBX functionality on their mobile devices, while offering IT administrators greater management of their entire communications assets by integrating mobile devices with their fixed telephony infrastructure," said Suke Jawanda, Microsoft Senior Product Planner. "As innovation in the FMC domain continues, we expect mobile devices to increasingly compliment and in many cases displace traditional desktop phones in the enterprise."

OnRelay MBX uses wireless networks and software to allow organisations to get rid of their desk phones and allow their staff to use a mobile phone as their universal business device, incorporating all the functionality and tracking features of a traditional desk phone. MBX works over any public network (3G, GSM, CDMA, EVDO) removing the need for an expensive, private voice network infrastructure.

OnRelay MBX is the core of Swisscom's Fixed Mobile Convergence solution One Phone Business, launched in October 2007.
