New Antenna Technology Provides Spherical Coverage
VERNON HILLS, IL. (Nov 1, 2005) - Amphenol Mobile Consumer Products (MCP), a designer and manufacturer of antennas, hinges, and other components for wireless applications, has just introduced their 3D Omni-Directional Antenna. Unlike other omni-directional antennas, this antenna has an omni-directional radiation pattern in 3D space enabling it to cover not only the horizontal plane, but other planes as well.
The typical application of the 3D Omni-Directional Antenna is a wireless LAN access point. The access point would be placed on the second floor of a three-floor building, and would provide coverage for all three floors.
