OMAX® to Demonstrate Innovative Metalcutting Solutions at WESTEC

Kent, Washington, February 12, 2009 - OMAX will showcase two industry leading precision abrasive waterjet systems at WESTEC 2009. The 60120 JetMachining® Center will be on display alongside the 5555 JetMachining Center in booth 2832 from March 30- April 2 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, CA.

OMAX's 60120 JetMachining Center is one of the most recent additions to the company's industry leading line of precision abrasive waterjet systems. The 60120 is a large format machine that is ideal for quick and accurate cutting of larger or multiple parts from stock up to 5 feet x 10 feet (1.5 m x 3 m). The robust and reliable system features a 600 lb abrasive delivery feed system, as well as an innovative traction drive that enables faster traverse speeds for a significant reduction in throughput times when machining multiple and nested parts.

The 60120 will be featured with the OMAX Dual Pump Package, a fully integrated system that utilizes two P4055V pumps to produce unprecedented cutting speed and power, and a significant reduction in machining time compared to previous cutting models. The system is specially designed for shops that focus on cutting thick, difficult to machine materials and have high-capacity production or multiple nozzle requirements.

OMAX will also exhibit the 5555 JetMachining Center. With a footprint of 131 inches x 95 inches (3327 mm x 2413 mm), the 5555 can fit in practically any shop, and is ideal for short-run part production, just-in-time manufacturing, tooling and prototype part development of material sizes up to 5 feet x 5 feet (1.5 m x 1.5 m).

The 5555 will be equipped with the new OMAX Rotary Axis, which provides cutting adaptability in the Z travel direction and adds several height options for the part's design. The Rotary Axis is ideal for cutting pipe, circular or square stock materials and is designed with multiple mounting features on the output drive shaft.

The 5555 and 60120 JetMachining Centers will be demonstrated with OMAX's Tilt-A-Jet® system, which can achieve virtually zero taper. When the system is in use, software automatically calculates and offsets the natural taper that results from the abrasivejet. The taper is moved from the part to the scrap, leaving parts with perfectly square edges.

OMAX Intelli-MAX® Software Suite Version 13, the company's recent international release, will be showcased on both machines. OMAX is committed to developing cutting-edge technology and innovative software to ensure each customer enjoys the benefits of the industry's best abrasive waterjet machines and accessories. As a result, each OMAX product comes with the OMAX Technology Guarantee, which provides software upgrades for all existing customers at no additional charge.
