OKI Delivers Next Generation Automated Gate System to Haneda International Airport


TOKYO - OKI Electric Industry (TSE: 6703) today announced that it has delivered a "Next Generation Automated Gate System" to the Immigration Bureau, the Ministry of Justice for installation at Haneda International Airport which opens today. The system is capable of managing immigration work and of identifying individuals. Two gates will be installed at Haneda International Airport, which is Japan's forth international airport to install the system after Narita (4 sets), Kansai (4 sets) and Centrair (2 sets).

"Next Generation Automated Gate System" identifies individuals through fingerprints taken during the immigration process. The new solution is more compact and easier to use than conventional systems. The system and service it provides has won high remarks from traveler who have used it, and installing the new gate system is expected to make the immigration process, which requires strict security controls, more efficient. The installation of this gate at Haneda International is in part motivated by the needs expressed by travelers.
