Ogo Brings ICQ to the Mobile Masses

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Jan. 16 /- IXI Mobile and ICQ® announced today that IXI Mobile will begin to offer ICQ instant messaging services to their customers in January 2007. Under the agreement, IXI is authorized to extend its current mobile messaging platform to the ICQ services, bringing them to the mobile masses leveraging ICQ strong market presence in several markets. IXI Mobile's Ogo Product and associated services take the ICQ robust interaction to the streets, enabling their end users to take ICQ with them wherever they go.

"We are delighted to partner with ICQ on this service," said Amit Haller, President and CEO of IXI Mobile. "We are always looking for ways to extend the portfolio of services we can offer to our customers, who are either cellular operators or Internet Service Providers, which in turn allows them to attract more users, and offer a more complete, robust experience to these users.

"At the end of the day, it's all about the users' expectations of what their Instant Messaging experience should be like. That expectation level was set by the PC. Together with ICQ, we brought to market what we believe is the closest IM experience in the mobile world to the PC, with the added benefit of continuous connectivity and presence awareness," continued Haller.

"We are very excited about the opportunity to launch with IXI Mobile on their Ogo Platform. We believe there is a unique opportunity here, especially since we are starting the cooperation in Germany where ICQ is the largest IM community with almost 7 million active users*. We have a strong brand here and a young, loyal audience of very engaged users," said Orey Gilliam, General Manager, ICQ. "The full keyboard, large screen and ease of use of the Ogo will appeal to our users and entice them to take their experience with them everywhere they go - away from the PC," added Gilliam.
