O.D./I.D. Grinding Capability for Large Parts Added at Straton Industries
Stratford, CT -- Straton Industries is proud to announce the installation of a Kellenberger 1000u I.D./O.D Grinder with a size capacity of 40 inches between centers with a 20 inch O.D. swing. This new grinder is an addition to our current in-house FAA repair offerings and will give Straton the ability to expand the scope of our repair of components for helicopter and fixed wing aircraft. The large capacity will meet the needs of companies that have large jobs that need to be done quickly and the capacity will also benefit to aircraft repair facilities, such as Goodrich. We are excited about the acquisition of this new machine and our ability to offer a wider variety of machining operations.
Straton Industries is both a contract manufacturer for precision machining and a certified Federal Aviation Administration Repair Station (certificate #XTRR859K). This specialty qualification has been key in the continued growth of our aerospace-dedicated customer base. Straton Industries is certified for overhaul and repair of components for helicopter and fixed wing aircraft. Located 2 miles from Sikorsky airport in southern CT, our full service machining facility specializes in O.D./I.D. grinding, and managing custom machining chrome and NDT for a wide spectrum of clients.
