Northrop Grumman Showcases UK-Based Technologies at DSEI Exhibition and Conference in London

LONDON, September 6/ / --

- Demonstration of Next Generation Unmanned Ground Vehicle and Integrated Collaboration Environment for National Security Applications

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) will highlight its UK-based technologies and capabilities at the Defence Systems & Equipment International (DSEI) exhibition and conference.

The exhibition and conference will take place at ExCel in London from
11 - 14 September. Northrop Grumman will be exhibiting at stand number
837 - N3.

Featured displays by Northrop Grumman will include demonstrations of
CUTLASS, the next generation unmanned ground vehicle, which will be used by
the Ministry of Defence for anti-terrorism operations worldwide, and the
integrated collaborative environment incorporating TouchTable(TM) technology
for national security and resilience applications.

The CUTLASS system offers the latest technology in a modular design,
thereby enabling the user to deal with the full range of both military and
improvised explosive devices. Its highly versatile design means that it is
capable of accommodating a wide range of payloads, sensors and tools.

The manipulator arm is equipped with a state-of-the-art gripper and has
nine degrees of freedom for greater movement and agility inside limited
spaces, such as the interior of a car. The robot is able to creep along at
deliberately slow speeds for delicate operations and may accelerate to high
speeds to enable rapid travel. The six-wheeled design offers mobility on all
types of hard and soft terrain and in all weather conditions.

The integrated collaboration environment developed by Northrop Grumman is
an exciting application of cutting edge technologies that is now being used
in variety of situations including intelligence, military and national
security environments as well as for live media situation reporting. One of
the cornerstone technologies being used is the TouchTable(TM), a projection
display with a touch-sensitive screen that creates a high-definition
interactive horizontal display facility for viewing the operational picture
and manipulating complex data. It responds to intuitive gestures made by the
user, sensing the location of points that are touched, allowing users to
interact easily with highly complex and rapidly changing datasets.

Also on display will be Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine's new generation
of navigation and ship control technology - VisionMaster FT.

VisionMaster FT provides a highly integrated fully networked suite of
marine radar and electronic charting systems designed to form the backbone of
the modern ship's integrated bridge. In addition to the standard suite,
Sperry Marine will be featuring its integrated platform management solution
as part of their VisionMaster FT defence offering. The solution is similar to
the system that is currently being installed on the Royal Navy's new Type 45
destroyers.
