Prox Sensors Simplified: New GlobalProx Line Right for 2 out of 3 Applications

Lifetime guaranteed, with standard and extended sensing ranges available

FLORENCE, KY (March 2005) - Odds are almost any user can select the right sensor from Balluff's new GlobalProx Switch Line, which the manufacturer says should be fine for two-thirds of all general purpose applications. Designed to address industry's need for global standardization and "in stock" availability, the tubular style sensors are offered in 2-wire and 3-wire DC, in sizes M8, M12, M18 and M30, with quick-disconnect or cable-out. They are ideal for non-contact presence sensing of metal objects in virtually any industry application for positioning, automation, control, or process monitoring.

Three-wire DC models are available in standard or extended sensing ranges, with a medium-length housing and 360-degree-visible LED. Two-wire DC models all offer extended range in a short housing, also with the 360-LED.

All sensors in the GlobalProx line are designed for rugged service, with a lifetime guarantee and protection against short circuit and polarity reversal. M12 through M30 sizes are sealed to an IP68 rating. A smear-proof part number is laser-etched on the active surface to ensure easy replacement.
