AUSTIN, Texas -- NIWeek - National Instruments (Nasdaq: NATI) this week welcomed a record 3,500+ attendees to the Austin Convention Center for the 18th annual graphical system design conference and exhibition. The three-day conference ran Aug. 7-9 and included the unveiling of the world's first software-designed instrument, the NI PXIe-5644R vector signal transceiver; LabVIEW 2012 system design software with application architecture structures and stability improvements; and more than 40 products such as the NI Single-Board RIO General-Purpose Inverter Controller and stand-alone NI CompactDAQ chassis.
With this week's announcements, NI President, CEO and Cofounder Dr. James Truchard reinforced the company's vision that software will continue to be instrumental in its commitment to equip engineers and scientists with the ultimate graphical system design tools.
"We want to empower the Edisons of the world to innovate and discover at a much faster pace," said Dr. Truchard. "This is our vision. We want to be in front of the curve defining the next generation of instrumentation."
This year, the NIWeek conference also included a forum between entrepreneurs and engineers to address the need for increased access to technology in developing countries to nurture innovation and help achieve sustainable prosperity. Also, as part of a growing ecosystem, NI hosted an unprecedented number of Alliance Partners, nearly 600, including the newly announced Platinum Alliance Partners Noffz and Clemessy.
