NextPage® 2 Update Enables Users to Integrate Existing Documents Into Collaborative Processes

Users Don't Have to Start Over or Wait for a New Project to Enjoy the Benefits of Collaborating With Others; Company Continues to Overcome User Adoption Barriers With Elegant Solutions

DRAPER, Utah, Dec. 7 - NextPage today released an updated version of NextPage 2 -- a document collaboration service. NextPage 2 eliminates user adoption problems by seamlessly integrating into the document creation and sharing processes users already employ and by not requiring a centralized repository to store and manage documents. The update enables users to build Version Maps of documents that already exist but haven't been previously tracked by NextPage 2 and allows users more flexibility in how they work with the service.

"This update further facilitates user adoption by enabling teams to start collaborating immediately, even if the documents and projects have already started," said Darren Lee, president and chief executive officer of NextPage. "Most other systems require you to start from the beginning of a project, or if you pull in all of the related documents, you can't show the relationships or the history of the documents. Now, NextPage 2 allows you to build that history, so you don't have to wait for a new project to begin collaborating."

Once NextPage 2 is installed, users can tie existing document versions together by adding those files to a Version Map(TM). A NextPage Version Map shows the relationships of different versions of the same document. Once imported into the Version Map, the files can then be compared and will continue to be tracked by NextPage 2 as new versions are created. This feature allows users to start collaborating on existing documents immediately, rather than waiting for the beginning of a document project.

Also in this version, preferences can be customized so that users have more flexibility in deciding how to interact and work with NextPage 2.

Recently named "Best Document Management Product" by the Information Management Awards, NextPage 2 integrates with the way people collaborate daily on documents -- typically in Microsoft Office and in e-mail. The service revolutionizes the document experience through a user interface, called the NextPage Activity Center(TM), that reports status of documents, including who has opened, who is editing, where the latest version is and what needs to be done next.

Users of NextPage 2 prevent wasted time working on, finding and incorporating edits into the wrong document version, reduce the risk of sending out the wrong version and lower the costs of coordinating changes during document intensive projects, such as proposals, contracts, marketing plans, statements of work and consulting engagements.
