The company will be showcasing the new product line, which incorporates the company's advanced V3(TM) surge protection technology and Power Blocker® automatic shutdown capabilities, at the 2006 International CES tradeshow from January 5 to 8 in Las Vegas.
Depending on the model, the Vantego family provides from 9 to 16 total outlets, including a combination of child-safe standard outlets, child-safe adapter spaced outlets and additional expandable outlets. Each configuration is designed to offer an optimal combination of basic plugs and larger adapter plugs, while maintaining a compact size, in order to meet the needs of applications ranging from high-end workstation protection to safeguarding a home theater configuration. The unique and innovative design allows for the expandable outlets to remain completely hidden until they are needed. To use the additional connections, the user need only slide the two ends of the surge suppressor apart to reveal the additional outlets.

The Vantego line of products provides ratings ranging from 1,800 to 5,200 joules depending on the model. Each incorporates Newpoint's V3 advanced surge protection technology, Power Blocker automatic shutdown technology and ClearConnect(TM) power conditioning technology. The V3 technology uses components that provide 27 percent greater surge absorption capacity, as well as superior heat dissipation, compared to other available products. The result is a safer, more reliable and longer lasting surge protector that provides excellent protection for connected equipment. Power Blocker automatic shutdown technology further protects attached equipment by automatically disabling the conductive power to connected equipment, once the surge protector reaches capacity, thus keeping equipment safe from further surges. The ClearConnect power conditioning technology assures up to 70dB EMI/RFI noise filtration to help connected equipment deliver optimum picture, sound and data transmission performance.
The Vantego products offer a broad range of options to meet the varying needs of home office and home theater uses. Premium products integrate a telephone/DSL line protection with a two line splitter, a RJ45 data line protection and up to 3 sets of coaxial/broadband line protection with gold connectors for noise reduction and superior data transmission. A bonus six- foot RG6 coaxial cable, a six foot RJ11 cord and a six foot Cat5 cable are included where applicable. Other models incorporate a choice of either a two or single-line splitter, a RJ-45 data line protection and coaxial/broadband line protection. These models include a bonus a six-foot coaxial cable, a six- foot telephone cord or both depending on the feature set.
Protection and ground indicator lights provide visual assurance that the surge processor is working properly and indicate at a glance that the unit is working properly. Premium models feature a noise filter indicator light that lets the user know the ClearConnect power filtering technology is functioning properly. The power cords range from 3 to 12 feet in length and incorporate a right-angle plug for easy connection. A robust cord management system hinges from the center of the unit to allow users to efficiently manage and direct connected power cords to help minimize clutter.
Vantego products carry from $150,000 to $500,000 Limited Connected Equipment Warranty. The products will be available in July 2006, and are targeted to be sold through consumer electronics, office superstore, and satellite markets.
