Rockler Expands Silicone Glue Tool Lineup with Sealable Non-Stick Container and Precision Brushes
MEDINA, MINN. (PRWEB) FEBRUARY 19, 2020 - Rockler Woodworking and Hardware has expanded its line of easy-to-clean silicone glue tools with a small lidded container for mess-free glue-ups and short-term storage and a set of three micro brushes for pinpoint glue application.
The Rockler Silicone Glue Keeper is designed for small brushed-on gluing projects or larger projects that involve gluing parts in stages. It measures 2-1/2" square by 1-3/4" high (with the lid on) and has a reservoir that holds up to 2 ounces of glue. The lid fits snugly on the container, allowing the user to store most wood glues up to 72 hours.
The lid also features a shallower reservoir and notches for holding glue brushes on the underside, so it can be used to hold dabs of glue or to catch drips coming off of brushes. In addition, the lid secures upside down on top of the base to hold glue brushes so their tips will drip back into the reservoir.
The Rockler Silicone Micro Glue Brush Set includes three brushes with specially designed silicone tips to make it easier to apply glue precisely in different situations. The cone-shaped fine-point tip is ideal for applying glue to small round holes or openings. At less than 1/8" wide, the angled chisel tip is designed to reach into narrow gaps and small joints and also can be used to scrape glue from corners. The tapered flat tip is useful for general applications – its grooved face holds more glue, while the smooth face spreads glue evenly.
As with all of Rockler's previous silicone tools, most glues rinse off the new tools easily with water or can be allowed to dry and simply peeled away. The tools can be used with wood glues, polyurethane glues and white craft glue; they are not designed for use with cyanoacrylate (CA) glues.
"The Silicone Glue Keeper can help reduce glue waste because it holds a smaller amount of glue than larger trays and it seals well for temporary storage," said Steve Krohmer, Rockler's vice president for product development. "The Silicone Micro Glue Brush Set gives woodworkers and crafters a way other than toothpicks to get glue into tight spots."
The Rockler Silicone Glue Keeper (52296) is priced at $9.99, while the Silicone Micro Glue Brush Set (50822) is priced at $7.99. Both are available for purchase exclusively online at http://www.rockler.com or at Rockler Woodworking and Hardware stores nationwide, as well as through the Rockler catalog.
