Dentsply Sirona Orthodontics Introduces Double-Duty Sculpt I.Q. Dental Laser

The new Sculpt I.Q. dental diode laser has dual wavelengths that deliver clinical advantages ranging from immediate treatment, individual customization, versatility and intuitive handling for better, safer, faster dental care.

YORK, PA/SALZBURG AUSTRIA (PRWEB) JUNE 21, 2018

York/Salzburg, June 20, 2018. Dentsply Sirona Orthodontics announced the launch of the new Sculpt I.Q. dental diode laser. Offering dental professionals an alternative to traditional cutting instruments, the Sculpt I.Q. laser features dual wavelength settings so it can be used for a wide range of clinical procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, periodontology, tooth whitening, in addition to photobiomodulation, also known as low-level laser therapy.

“The new Sculpt I.Q. offers clinicians a best-in-class combination of versatility, ease-of-use and clinical efficacy,” said Anthony Vigliotti, Global Product Manager. “Treatment with the Sculpt I.Q. laser delivers less trauma to the soft tissue while offering accelerated healing across a variety of procedures. It stops the need for sutures in many procedures while reducing bleeding and post-treatment infections. And because clinicians will need less time to administer anesthetic or control bleeding, procedures often take significantly less time than with traditional dental appointments.”

The Sculpt I.Q. laser features two individual diodes that each produce a specific wavelength. The 970nm wavelength is used for cutting while the 660nm wavelength is used for low-level laser therapies including promoting tissue healing, decreasing inflammation and reducing pain. It will be one of the most versatile tools in the operatory.

The Sculpt I.Q. laser features intuitive, touchscreen navigation and 12 preset applications. The system can be configured for two individual users while the USB port allows for easy profile and software updates. The system features an ergonomic handpiece and wireless foot control allowing the clinician to work in whatever way is comfortable for them.

“It wasn’t too long ago that having a laser in the operatory was considered a sort of clinical luxury. Today the clinical advantages are well known including better soft tissue management, enhanced protection of healthy tissue, plus reduced post-op infections for improved clinical outcomes. It’s why we say Sculpt I.Q. is the intelligent way to sculpt ideal smiles,” added Vigliotti.
