ADLINK Announces Extreme Rugged VITA 75 Computing Platform with Accelerated Processing for Military and Aerospace

Extreme Rugged, VITA 75 SWaP-optimized Platform for Military and Aerospace with Enhanced Graphics/Video Processing Driven by NVIDIA Quadro® GPU MXM Module

San Jose, Calif. — Sept. 10, 2019 — ADLINK Technology, Inc., a global provider of advanced Edge Computing products, today released its latest Extreme Rugged, SWaP-optimized VITA 75 COTS computing platform, the HPERC-KBL, designed for mission-critical applications such as C4ISR and use in the world’s most demanding military and aerospace environments. ADLINK will showcase the new platform in joint exhibition with its channel partners Steatite and Acal at the upcoming DSEI 2019, one of the leading global defense and security trade shows, from Sept. 10-13 at ExCeL- London.

With many years of experience in manufacturing computing solutions for the toughest military environments, ADLINK formed its Small Form Factor Tactical Edge Server (SFF-TES) solution group to better optimize products for one of the most in-demand and mission-critical computing needs: small systems that can handle both the data loads and physical stress common in edge and fog deployments. As a strategic line of the SFF-TES solution group, ADLINK’s HPERC exemplifies how the company’s integrated research, design, and manufacturing capabilities can yield exceptionally versatile solutions for military and aerospace needs.

The HPERC-KBL, focusing on balancing SWaP constraints against high compute performance and scalability, significantly strengthens ADLINK’s SFF portfolio by bringing an intelligent solution with its accelerated computing capabilities. Like all HPERC solutions, the new platform features VITA 75 standard mounting, silent passive cooling, and measurements of only 223.7 x 177.8 x 98.7 mm (8.8 x 7.0 x 3.9 inches) for the conductive cold plate “MC” variant, and 304.8 x 150.0 x 130.0 mm (12.0 x 5.9 x 5.1 inches) for the finned passive convection “MH” variant. Despite its diminutive size, the HPERC-KBL contains a quad-core Intel® Xeon® processor combined with 16GB of ECC DDR4 memory to provide ample processing performance, which can be further enhanced with an optional NVIDIA Quadro® MXM module for GPGPU-accelerated applications. Removable SATA and SD storage provide data collection capabilities, while four Gigabit Ethernet and six USB ports via MIL-DTL-38999 connectors offer all the network and device connectivity required in demanding edge settings. An IP67-rated sealed enclosure small enough to mount under a vehicle seat or carry in a backpack, along with a MIL-STD-461F/810G/704F/1275E certified design makes the HPERC-KBL a literal perfect fit in highly mobile environments where neither constant movement nor debris ingress can be allowed to interfere with demanding data processing tasks.

“The heavily ruggedized nature of ADLINK’s HPERC line lets the system function in virtually any environment, from arctic to tropical, while withstanding the levels of shock and vibration expected in military engagements. Our HPERC line has been integrated by a defense system provider into its medium altitude reconnaissance surveillance system,” said Roy Keeler, senior product and business development manager at ADLINK. “The addition of the HPERC-KBL delivers an advanced heterogeneous computing solution with real-time graphics and video processing capabilities, enabling a wide range of next-generation mission-critical applications including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, radar, software-defined radio, sonar, and forward looking infrared radiometry.”

ADLINK provides military and aerospace system integrators with fully-integrated, highly cost-effective, military standards-compliant COTS/MOTS products. Built with uncompromised integrity and security, ADLINK designs and manufacturers its solutions in-house. Our vertically integrated production framework provides customers with fast development and deployment of reliable, long-lifecycle products that enable rapid data-to-decision and end-to-end solutions for mission-critical applications.
