Walther Electric’s NEW NEO, The Evolution of CEE Plug + Socket Devices Designed to The IEC60309 Standard
August 2019, Somerset, NJ — Walther Electric announces the new NEO CEE plug. With the fastest and easiest connection, the NEO plug offers a one-touch locking system. A quarter-turn locks the front and back part of the plug, while at the same time activating the enclosed strain relief. You’ll know the plug is locked when you hear an acoustic feedback which serves as the confirmation that the plug is closed. The feature maximizes product safety during operation. Additionally, tensile forces are acting directly on the cable to prevent material fatigue of the strain relief.
Improved Connection Makes for Easy and Safe Operation A spring-clamp-connection (CAGE-CLAMP) enables a screwless and fast connection. The internationally proven connection clamping levers ensures easy operation and allows for frequent reconnection.
Optimized Cover Construction Enables Easy Insertion of Plug and Coupler With an enlarged opening angle of 217 degrees, the coupler cover is designed to be optimally held in the open position, alleviating possible threading or cover breakage. Robust materials and improved geometries provide additional stability.
Ease of Termination Walther now offers two easy termination options. The first is a “CAGE-CLAMP” or spring-loaded type of termination, where you strip the outer jacket of the individual conductor and simply insert the conductor in the contact zone flip the locking toggle. A real time saver! The second termination offering is a robust “Torx” style of screw head that is easy to tighten and allows for low contact resistance and even power distribution.
