New Multicell Cyclone System Comes with Axial Flow Cyclones with Internal Vortex Vanes

Press Release Summary:

The Multicell Cyclone System is designed for separating dry particulates from a stream of air or other gases. It densely packs multiple cyclones with small diameters within an outer steel casing. The system is suitable for processing aluminum, cement, coke and coal. The unit creates a high centrifugal force and is capable of handling high volumes of gas and material without changing the direction.

Van Tongeren Unveils Multicell Cyclone

Novel System Packs Multiple Cyclones Together for High Particle Separation Efficiency

Lebanon, PA, USA: Process equipment manufacturer Van Tongeren America, Lebanon, Pa. (Van-Tongeren.com), has unveiled the Multicell cyclone system. Developed to separate dry particulates from a stream of air or other gas at higher particle efficiencies than conventional cyclones, the Multicell cyclone system densely packs multiple cyclones with small diameters within an outer steel casing rather than rely on largediameter, high-volume cyclones that require large footprints. The proprietary Multicell system features axial flow cyclones with internal vortex vanes to create a high centrifugal force and handle high volumes of gas and material without changing the direction of the airstream. The particle-laden airstream enters through the top of the unit where a manifold directs it into the cyclones. Particles are collected in a series of hoppers while the gas is safely discharged.

Proven for processing aluminum, cement, coke, coal and a variety of other aggregates and minerals where a high degree of efficiency is required, the Multicell cyclone system may be custom-engineered for each installation to achieve target efficiency rates, cut points and other specifications. The novel Multicell design often eliminates the need for costly electrostatic precipitators, baghouse dust collectors and ancillary equipment while also offering both lower capital and operating costs.
