DEER PARK, NY, JULY 31, 2008 - The new Hahnel TV Video Pro is a compact, lightweight charger for today's high capacity lithium-ion and lithium-ion polymer batteries. It features two individual compartments, each with its own independent microchip-regulated charge control with overload protection and sophisticated LCD information display for each battery. This makes it possible to charge each battery independently and allow professional users and amateur videographers to have enough available power for uninterrupted shooting. MSRP is $119.95.
An interchangeable plate system and a precision micro plug provide fast charges of popular lithium-ion brands and all models of those brands. Charge times range from less than an hour for a single battery to approximately 2 hours for two batteries at full discharge. In the event that a camera company introduces a new camera with a different pin or configuration, Hahnel will have available compatible charging plates, which can be easily installed by means of a simple spring clip. These replacement charge plates will cost only about $18, a considerable savings over buying a new charger.
Video Pro protects against many problems. In the field, it monitors battery voltage continuously to indicate the state of charge without the need to be plugged into a power source. It also protects against short circuits and provides automatic recovery. Besides detecting excessive temperature, it stops charging the battery to protect it from damage. Operating from 12VDC, it is supplied with an AC/DC adapter and car adapter lead. It offers dual voltages for worldwide use and a car charger. The modern-styled housing has a slide-out charger stand.
